Came across this problem yesterday, it took me a long time to crack it, thats probably just me , can any of you guys tackle it? Comment and let me know :)

A man once had to travel with a wolf, a goat and a cabbage. He had to take good care of them, since the wolf would like to taste a.piece of goat if he would get the chance, while the goat appeared to long for a tasty cabbage. After some traveling, he suddenly stood before a river. This river could only be crossed using the small boat laying nearby at a shore. The boat was only good enough to take himself and one of his loads across the river. The other two subjects/objects he had to leave on their own. How must the man row across the river back and forth, to take himself as well as his luggage safe to the other side of the river, without having one eating another?

If you can or can not get it please feel free to comment, try use your head and not the internet, it makes it fun. Best of luck!

Study, What A Drain

Study, what a drain!
Two sets of exams every year, 6 months of stressful preparation every year, and for what? To start it all again next semester! Man, I can not wait to graduate!
People talk about students having it easy and that when they get out into the real world they will have their eyes opened, I think not. I myself am a full time student but also work 2 jobs to sustain this. Perhaps "students having it easy" was true in the past , but in today's economic age that is not the case. People have not got the money to enjoy their student lives, yes we get opportunities to do so, but this takes nothing from the looming workloads, money stresses and everything in between.

Maybe this will be viewed as biased and just plain giving out, but in my experience, getting my degree and getting started on a proper full time job(as opposed to two part-times and a full time college schedule) is when life starts getting good.
This Opinion may just be derived from the fact I love to work hard and have my pay check at the end of the week, I consider myself a bit of a workaholic at times. But regardless it is my opinion and the generalisation is frustrating, we don't have it easy, yes some do, but some don't!

This is what I feel like on a regular basis. Pulling my hair out. However there is a light at the end of the tunnel, my final set of exams are looming and that means its nearly time to finish with studies and start with the real work.

Pre Exam Preparations

Exams are aimed at not only testing the knowledge of a student but also at their skills and applications of that acquired knowledge.

In most cases, there are two types of questions you will come across:

1- Essay Style Questions:
These are not necessarily concerned with application of the knowledge but more so with the ability to develop and argue/critique a strong point. These types of question do not only require a reasonable amount of information, but also require that the person have a strong sense of creativity also, so that they can comment, critique and analyse.

2- Some exams may also contain problem questions, which is a scenario is presented and you have to apply the learned knowledge to solve the said problem. This question involves more than simply memorising the facts, it requires a thorough knowledge of them in order to be able to mould and apply them to the problem in hand.

What Approach To Take To The Question?
The approach is also very important. Students may have learned the subject and understood it but this is irrelevant if they cannot use this knowledge effectively. There is no perfect way to approach a question, and there is definitely no one way to do so.
Here are some points to consider when approaching your question:

  • Illustrate your answer with relevant examples, if you can't remember any, use hypothetical situations as being able to show an example shows you understand and this is what the examiner wants.
  • Relate to the question, every so often stop and ask yourself "am i asking what was asked?", you wont get any extra marks for answering what was not asked, so get into a habit of referring to the question and stating how the point you just made answers the question asked, examiners love that!
  • Re-read your answer to ensure you made all the points, no point remembering you forgot something when its too late!
  • Structure your answer making it easy for them to correct it, the easier it is to ready the easier it is for them to give you marks, in essence you will be rewarded for making their life easier!
  • Plan Your answer as failing to do so may make the perfect answer look messy!
Other tips:
  • Drink plenty of water as a lifestyle as it fuels your whole body, and brain!
  • Eat well coming up to the exam.
  • Exercise and take breaks during study as you may burn your self out otherwise!
  • Make sure and reward yourself, socialise, go for a drink or even watch some TV!

Best Of Luck!!!

The Fact Of Life

We all have hectic lifestyles, responsibilities and a tendency to procrastinate (I do anyway!). We see on-line all these crazy methods and procedures for improving memory and gaining the edge on exams when the solution is simple. Look after yourself.Yes it may seem easier than done, but that's not always the case, small acts can cause big effects. For example I am a student and found a number of small easy ideas got my brain on track:

-Drink 8+ glasses of water a day
-Eat small and regularly instead of big portions, big portions burn energy to digest
-Walk when you can instead of driving/bus etc..
-Try do a half hour of exercise daily (or as much as you can)
-Try sleep 8 hours, between 10pm-6am is the most beneficial sleep.

On top of this there are solutions to all the time consuming problems, for example healthybreakfast bars on the go, or nutritional snacks to keep hunger at bay and your brain working at maximum strength. On top of this there are plenty of vitamins tablets available to make the task of eating right easier. Keep scrolling and you will see just how easy it is to get healthy and study well.

I myself have studied through 6 years of school, 3 years of university, while putting in 12-14 hour days in the library, and have come out the other side knowing how to study without driving myself crazy, its not rocket science and if I can do it you can too. The only way for you as an individual to find the way that suits you best is to give it a try, healthy works best.

Having Sufficient Amounts Of Vitamins Is Key!

Vitamins are key to a healthy functioning body, in today's hectic lifestyle they may not be easy to maintain the right levels of each but by taking vitamins you can avoid that issue.
It is true that not all vitamins are appealing by taste and size and outward appearance, but regardless, having the correct vitamins is necessary for a healthy functioning mind that is ready to study hard and tackle exams head on. However that is no longer true as there is now gummy bear flavoured and shaped vitamins that make the process quite simple and even feel like a snack.

The three best vitamins to aid memory and study are:

-Vitamin B, naturally occurring in leafy greens; broccoli, asparagus, strawberries, melons, black beans, leeks, and other legumes, citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit, and soy beans.

-Antioxidants(vitamin c, e) are naturally available in blueberries, strawberries, and other berries, sweet potatoes, red tomatoes, spinach, broccoli, green tea and other types of tea, nuts and seeds, and citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits.

-Omega fatty acids and are naturally available from salmon, herring, tuna, halibut, and mackerel; walnuts; and flaxseed/flaxseed oil.

For most people ensuring that we eat these required food groups is hassle. We already have enough on our plate, study, work and everything in between, by investing in these vitamins all you have to do is simply pop one in your month on the go or before you leave the house, no hassle, but all the benefits.
